Satellite imagery timelines for site research

Village can now build an interactive satellite imagery timeline for a site. Give the agent a location and a time period, and it finds public imagery, screens for cloud cover over the site, and aligns the images so you can compare the same area across dates.

A timeline can help you investigate when ground clearing began, how a construction footprint expanded, or what changed between two reported milestones. You can use the images alongside permits, announcements, and other sources in your workspace.

Compare the site across dates

We developed the workflow through internal tests across 11 datacenter sites. Those tests informed the cloud screening, checks for haze and color differences, and consistent image alignment. Each helps make changes on the ground easier to distinguish from differences between captures.

Build a satellite timeline for this site over the last two years. Show the clearest available images and let me move between dates.

Include an address, coordinates, or a source identifying the site. Village builds the view in your workspace, where you can inspect it and ask follow-up questions. Coverage and weather determine which dates are usable; when a location is uncertain, the research should make that clear.
